Traditional city management mode, which has 50 years history, has its own strength and weakness. On the other hand, inforamtionization and rapid development of digital techques brings new perspectives in the innovation of city management. The author of this paper has conducted initial study in the field of digital city management. In the paper, the author also demonstrated necessity, feasibility and significance of digital city management. Digital city management mode of Tiexi District, Shenyang, has been studied in detail. The area is first tier experimental district of digital city management in Liaoning Province. The result of case study provides empirical demonstration of digital city management for government in different level.In the paper, following introduction of domestic as well as overseas city management mode, is in depth analysis of digital city management.
