The automotive industry is one of China's pillar industries; it can lead to a series of related industries in the development of the entire national economy and play an important role. After the reform and opening up, China's automobile industry has grown by leaps and bounds. In recent years is a batch to Chery, Geely representative of the independent brands for enterprises, as these independent brands continue to expand the scale of production, its products began to march towards the international market, and exports are growing scale.China's rapid economic growth has brought huge car consumer demand, coupled with the general backdrop of the WTO, the domestic automobile market is in a growing number of imported cars and the joint venture vehicles, and China's automotive industry is facing increasingly fierce competition in the domestic market, and export products into the international market is a new solution for the independent brands for enterprises. However, the homogeneity of the products, low brand recognition, export disorder, and many other negative factors inhibit the improvement of international competitiveness of China's automobile industry.What is the present situation of China's auto industry's export status? Which factors impact the international competitiveness of the automobile industry? Which international road should China's automobile industry follow? Which aspects should the government, industry associations and enterprises do to improve the automotive industry's international competitiveness? These questions of auto industry are worth examination.This paper is on the basis of SWOT analysis of the various factors which impact China's automobile industry's international competitiveness. Using MS, RCA and TC index comparison and analysis to present the status of the international competitiveness of the automobile industry; SWOT method is used to analysis the factors on the international competitiveness of the automotive industry in 4 aspects, and an investigation is used to analysis the manufacturing cost; the Chery's internationalization case is a maturity model for the domestic automobile manufacturing companies'internationalization; Finally, there are some conclusions and policy recommendations.
