The OEM mode of international subcontracting represents the comparative advantage deeply under the background of economic globalization. It not only helps the MNCs to advance core competence through the collocation of global resources, but also provides the developing countries an important way to get involved in the international system of labor division. However, with the in-depth development of OEM mode, some disadvantages and threats appear, resulting in more and more appeals asking the transformation of OEM mode in China. This thesis focuses on the OEM mode in China, analyses its economic effects and discusses the further development paths. First of all, subdivide the model of Feenstra & Hanson(2005), introduce the factor of market contract and compute the gross profits, then prove that the Chinese enterprisesthe can get profits from the international subcontractiong. Secondly, based on the analysis of the four factors of OEM mode: labor, technology, marcket and brand, the thesis believes the phase of transformation from "OEM" to "OBM" has not come yet, but OEM does need further improvement; and then proposes the three developing paths under the global value chian. At last, we estimate and analyse the international subcontracting index between different industries; after constructing the panel data model and regression analysis, the conclusion is,comparative advantage and scale economy are the basis of undertaking international OEM, and indicators such as the labor intensive level and productivity have postitive impact on OEM level. Finally come to the conclusion of the thesis and some suggestions for improving the level of OEM, such as joining in global value chain, develop the market force, etc. |
