The optimization study of railroad (road) engineering has become a very important design step. Its research contents include mainly the optimization of supplying plan, the optimization of construction organization, the optimization of structure design, and so on. Furthermore, the optimization of supplying plan is a key step for the feasibility of engineering investment. Under the traditional pattern, the optimization of supplying plan is mainly determined according to the experience of designers. However, it has not been formed a set of complete and scientific method. The common construction section district method is carried out based on the principle handy reclaiming. But a near material choice creates the next step assignment materials yard frequently in the confusion or conflict of transportation. Thus, this causes the confusion of design, the punch-drunk total transportation costs and no control from the designer. Therefore, this research is performed based on this background.In this thesis, the step, process, outline and predominance of table-manipulation method were investigated in detail using some theories and methods of table-manipulation method, operations research, linear algebra. On the base of engineering example, some conclusions are drawn as follows:1. The transportation problem about supply exceeds demand has been solved skillfully using table-manipulation method. Furthermore, the optimal transportation plan has been achieved under an optimum theorem condition and this result in the minimal freight requirements. Compared with construction section district method, the maximal convenience and scientificalness about linear programming table-manipulation method are been brought forth.2. The transportation model under limited conditions has been established creationary by means of engineering example and the superiority of the linear programming table-manipulation method is discussed using the same method. So, this would be help for the popularization and application of this method in engineering design sooner.3. According to the problems of transportation line at present, the method about distance corrected is proposed. Furthermore, the evaluation standard about necessary of the construction of service roadway and auxiliary bridge constructed is established.
