Chinese ETE International Competitiveness Study

As one of the China's high-tech industry, the Electronic and telecommunications equipments (ETE) is of great importance to national economy. And the global communications network now is changes from 2G, 2.5G to 3G. It is a good opportunity to the development of China's ETE.First of all, this thesis analyzes the international competitiveness of China's ETE, based on the review of the international competitiveness research results. We find that ETE's international market share has greatly increased. Compared to developed countries, the exports competitiveness is not weaker than them. However, the high value-added products take a low proportion in total exports. The exports structure is need to be improved.And then, the thesis analyzes the key factors that impact on international competitiveness of China's ETE, and creates a multiple regression model to test the impact degree of factors. The results showed that there have relationships between international competitiveness of ETE and the foreign investment, R&D investment and real effective exchange rate. For ETE has not yet formed an effective market structure, we find there is no relationship between international competitiveness and industrial concentration. Finally put forwards several recommendations on how to improve China's ETE.
