In market economy featuring ever changeable economic climate,Volatile market demand, and fiercer competition, cost advantage, which is crucial to the development of an enterprise, comes not only from cost in itself, but also from both the reducing of cost and from the tapping of potential profits in management.Maximum of profits by reducing cost depends largely on the scientificmaking of production scheduling——an integral component of management inan enterprise. Over the years, production scheduling, worked out by scheduling department not employing advanced expertise but using previous data, cannot sometimes meet the real needs, not keeping up with the times. The reduction of cost can only be achieved through scheduling production in a scientific way, utilizing modern tools, applying a combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, and quantifying the efforts related to management and optimizing them.Linear programming, a method in applied mathematics, can make it come true that under certain constraint conditions, the optimization of a target is obtained by the appropriate utilization of and allocation of resources. Linear programming is of importance in policy-making, improvement in scheduling, etc. in an enterprise, and is a basic theory and an indispensable method in systems engineering and in modern management.Based on the analysis of production scheduling used in China and other countries, this dissertation, taking into account characteristics of Chinese manufacturing, puts forward the application of linear programming in allocation of resources and in optimization of production scheduling, after the research of previous production scheduling by experience in Harbin Bearing Group crop. and in its Miniature Tapered Roller Factory. And the dissertation brings forward the establishment of model of production scheduling and the optimization of production scheduling, in the case of processing of outer ring in the Factory.Besides, the dissertation discusses measures for realization of the optimization of production scheduling in the fields such as improving professional competence of workers, fostering workers' awareness of the importance of quality and innovation, strengthening basic management, and making data more scientific, etc..
