The competitive market pushes the small and medium sized enterprises to be much stricter on production scheduling. On the one hand, enterprises should be able to change product design in short time as buyers’ request, on the other hand, the tight delivery time will make enterprises rise up cost, which require production scheduling stuff be quicker and more precise on decision making.Standing on the field staff, accompany with what happened in R Company, in the thesis, production scheduling is optimized from below three parts: order selectively acceptation, production design change’s effect elimination and unstable product quality reduction. The production scheduling staff just has to use the populated MS EXCEL to set up a single integer linear programming model and corresponded variable tables, and then he can get the scheduling suggestion, output of each product, profit prediction, and quickly decide which new order is acceptable. After introducing this linear programming model to R Company, production scheduling stuff got released from day and night scheduling calculation, and be able to answer salesmen’s order acceptation questions within 10 minutes, while before it would take them at least 1 working day to finish the job.Since the product design change and unstable production quality also affect much on production scheduling efficiency, improving methods on management were also be offered in this thesis. Technical marketing workshop was introduced to tighten the relationship between product design and order acceptance. Material and vendor option flow was applied to clear the block from urgent procurement. Besides, causal method in 6 sigma management theory was used to analyze the causes of unstable quality. And hereby some optimizing suggestions were offered, such as strengthen pre job training, make standard operation procedure, ordinarily check and maintain the machines and measuring appliances, standardize the warehousing entry procedure, and be more strict on filed 5S management.After executing above management suggestions, the gap between theory constraints conditions and actuals was narrowed, scheduling staff can make decision soon just according to the LP model’s output.
