Impact Research On The Taxi Price Adjustment In Beijing

With the rapid development of China's economy and the improvement of people's living standard, people's requirement to the journey diverse and the quality has been increasing day by day; the taxi just meets to people' demand by its service characteristics, for example, flexibility, speed, convenience, comfort and a wide range of service. Although it is the auxiliary status of the city p-traffic way, it is one of the important infrastructures of a modern city and has an important position in the urban reform opening and improving the investment environment; to a certain extent, the degree of taxis' development has reflected an urban economic development level and the modernization aggregate level. However, in the recent years, the gas price fluctuation was frequent, the taxi's operation cost also ceaselessly changed along with it, which increased the taxi industry's particularly taxi driver's pressure. The taxi's price, which's regulation has affected the general consumer's benefit, becomes a focus by all social sectors' attention.In this paper, the background of the taxi industry has been investigated, and the transportation cost was analyzed in very great details. According to the IC card data of taxis' operation in Beijing, the main operation indexes were obtained, and the linear relationship among the indexes was established, thus, the impact of oil price on the taxi price was quantitatively analyzed. The oil price is one of substantial clauses of the taxi price' regulation, because of the taxi price's regulation in 2006, the data before and after which was elected for comparative analyses, before the regulation, the data for the September 2004, the April2005 and the May 2005 was selected, while, after the regulation, the data for 2006 from July to October was adopted. The operation status of the taxi was obtained under the background of different prices of oil and taxi, and then the comparative analysis was carried out, at the last, the impact of oil price's fluctuation to the taxi price and the taxi driver's income has been analyzed.
