A complete Vender Managed Inventory (VMI) model of personal computer requires cooperation of multiple components. The PC suppliers in satisfy the distributors and retailers by local configuration center, local buffer center, or third-party logistics hub (3PL Hub). Therefore, the supply chain displays a multiple-to-multiple connecting structure. Under this circumstance, there will be different methods of transaction for different partners, and the differences will result in information symmetry. As a result, the traditional VMI model of PC suppliers will lead to limitations in practice. To solve this problem, the research uses RosettaNet to construct the information infrastructure and related operation procedures of VMI model for PC industries, and propose the reference architecture of supply chain collaboration. The reference architecture includes forecast collaboration model and order collaboration model and inventory collaboration model, in order to strengthen and integrate the information flow among members of supply chain, and satisfy the planned orders, real orders, and rush orders of the customers. The objective of the proposed architecture in this research aims at reducing inventory level, and increasing the response speed and flexibility of inventory as well, in order to promote the position of the PC industries in the global supply chain of PC suppliers. This research can not only apply to PC industries, but also to similar products, with characteristics of short product life, and mass customization, such as cellular phone, digital camera... etc.
