The Loss Of Life--The Critique Of "Consumerism"

Nowadays,under the control and manipulation of consumerism ,the individual characteristics are all arranged by consumerism, such as personality , quality, interest and so on . Our requirement is instigated and stimulated by falsity . The principle of consumerism :"Symbol Value"means that the greatest benefit could be gained from the individual and stand for the status , social position , and treasure . In consumerism society , the individuals are not free , because we have to face and deal with the lure from the merchants , and at last we follow the advertisement and"fashion". In addition , the personality , quality, and the requirement are arranged in advance, and the demand is the stimulated desire . The individuals do not have initiative to take part in consuming , but they follow others passively , which is not fit for the freedom and development of the individual , and the personality freedom will be depressed and lost . The falsity and consuming desire are created by consumerism society continuously , which brings the values and principles into every corner , through advertisement and media , and our consuming behavior is under their control .First of all , the consumerism leads to the our individual loss , which makes"Symbol Value"continuously , so that the individuals depend on it and can not help themselves , and they want to own and gain it , at the same time , when we consume , it is not the personality choice , but our personality is depressed and assimilated . The commodities do not show the individual personality , and the personality is given by the merchants to gain the profit .Secondly , under the depression and enforcement of values and principles of consumerism , we consume ; to gain the greatest profit , the consumerism needs the consumers to identify it and gains the support and acceptance from the people . The consumerism makes use of every means , so that from the values the people can identify it , there are no different consuming values , they obey the values and principles of consumerism . Because of the consumerism values , there is no difference between the individual consuming behavior , and they pursue the high"Symbol Value"commodity ; the commodity above is the difference claimed by consumerism ; the item owned by the people discriminates the difference , which means the difference loss . Besides , in pursuit of the different consuming , the people lose the difference , and they make full use of every means to earn money .Thirdly , the consumerism seems to build the prosperous , democratic , free , lawful , and perfect society , which makes the individual not believe such society criticized . On the other hand , the consumerism makes use of the material force to assimilate the dissatisfaction and contrary of the individual , and it makes the people be busy pursuing the false requirement . The individuals identify consumerism , which leads to the loss criticize and awareness .of the peopleAt last , the loss personality , difference , criticize , and awareness of the individual lead to the loss of individual freedom , and the society without personality , difference , criticize , and awareness must be depressed , and the people in the society have no freedom . At the same time , the consumerism stirs up the people to pursue the commodity"Symbol Value", which leads to the people to pursue money , and the consumerism material wealth is mainly held by the class with the property , to earn more money , the people can not arrange the time and freedom to choose our labor and occupation , which makes the people lose freedom .Although the consumerism society creates the material productivity and wealth , and holds the relative democracy and legal system ; from the life analysis , the depress and assimilation lead to personality , difference , criticize and awareness and the freedom loss , and it must be criticized and corrected . And therefore , the consumerism society is individual life loss society , and the people have been"Existing"human . Marx held the true life was : the personality and ability of individual and the human can derive freely and be developed completely . No matter the individual factors or social causes lead to the loss of consciousness and autonomy , the people lose freedom and"Life"right , who can become"Existing"people biologically . The consumerism society guides and controls the people to pay attention to self-consumption , infinity pursuit of the false desire , if it can be reached , no matter how much it costs , indeed , it goes against the individual nature in pursuit of freedom development , and so it must lead to our development deformity , and must be displaced .
