Due to its new concept and new assumption about voluntary employee turnover, the unfolding model was always a focus among scholars.Researches were done to test it and many of them proved its validity and generality. However, few researches were done in mainland of China, and hence there is no enough proof of its generality in China.Meanwhile, with the lasting and rapid development, there is a lack of employees in Pearl River Delta of China. The voluntary turnover rate is growing and the costs of enterprises caused by voluntary turnover are increasing. So it is urgent and reasonable to test and extend the unfolding model basing on the voluntary employee turnover in Pearl River Delta. This dissertation includes five parts.(1) The preamble introduces the background, the objectives, the significations and the methods of this research;(2) The reviews have a retrospect on history of voluntary employee turnover researches, and to the point,it elaborates the unfolding model;(3) Some hypotheses are developed form assumptions and the logic of the unfolding model, and the questionnaires are designed;(4) In this part, the data are analyzed with SPSS16.0 and some of the hypotheses are falsified;(5) Some questions about the unfolding model are discussed and six conclusions are put foreward. Some new points are reached in this paper:(1) 61.54%of the voluntary turnovers in Pearl River Delta are classified by unfolding model;(2) Path 3 maybe don't represent a pull decision; (3) the leaving speed, the satisfaction and the extent of image violation are not different significantly;(4) Personal variables and non-work variables have no significant influence on the unfolding model.
