The Study On Planning Method Of Material Replenishment For Company A

This thesis describes the important effect of the planning methods of materials replenishment during the operation of manufacturing companies at first. Then it explains the theory and practice method of all these essential planning methods include MRP, KANBAN, reorder point and job order.Company A in this thesis has had one big issue that it could not balance its inventory level and service level during past several years. It is one typical problem in the most of the manufacturing companies. This thesis analyzes in detail on its products, business model and characteristic on demand and supply of its materials. With the combination of the theory and author's experience, the author expatiates how the different kinds of planning methods work with the companies'different characteristic of business model, products and materials.During the analysis, the author raises one important conception which is relative lead time against the internal customer. And he emphasizes the planning methods of materials replenishment should fit with the relative lead time, frequency of demand, fluctuation of demand, Species of its use and business model. In addition, this thesis analyzes the replenishment signal separately because it is always confuses the relative operators. And it tells us how to combine it with the planning method so that the operators would know how to make their decision on both of methods and signals。At last, this thesis describes in detail that how the company A improved their planning method step by step with the guidance from it and what is the good result it got after the improvement. It is not only the proof of the theory but also the reference for the companies which would plan to improve their planning system.
