Nowadays, the employment problem has become the most important issue in China's economic development process. As for the specialty of China's national condition, we have to depend on high-speed economic growth to solve the employment problem. The domestic consumption and investment is not enough, we should reach the goal through various channels. At present, the economy has become more and more global, many residents and policy researchers are concerned about the influence of the foreign trade of our country and foreign direct investment on employment and unemployment. This article is about the analytic research of the employment effect of the foreign trade of our country and foreign direct investment in different areas of our country. The basic opinion of the research is: divide our country into three areas as the east, the central and the west; take the foreign trade and foreign direct investment as the research object and analyze their different employment effect in different areas. We use the provincial panel data of 1978-2005 to construct the regression model of the panel data of the employment condition of the foreign trade and foreign direct investment in the three areas of our country, and then have a research on foreign trade and foreign direct investment's direct and indirect influence on regional employment; try to know more about the difference of employment in different areas of our country; explore the influence on employment condition in the three major area of the east, the central and the west by our country's foreign trade and foreign direct investment on the background of economical globalization, and offer appropriate proposal on regional policies so as to advance the balance development of regional employment and regional economy.
