The Comparative Analysis Of Trade Structure About Sichuan And Chongqing

In an open economy, , what kind of trade structure of a countries or regions has greatly affected on its economic development. As two developed western regions of our country, as well as the upper reaches of the Yangtze River economic belt of the core region, Sichuan and Chongqing in the social, economic, industry, culture, history, resources, and traffic aspects has a very close relationship between the interdependent and complementary. The cooperation with each other in foreign trade and build the upper reaches of the Yangtze River economic belt of the western development strategy is the needs of economic development. Structure of foreign trade between the two places has many similarities, but also has its own characteristics. In this paper, we use the statistical data from 1993 to 2008 for the research, as well as intuitive to use quantitative analysis tools for empirical research, empirical research mainly in Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality to the GDP and the total import and export a unit root (ADF) test, cointegration test and Granger causality test. Total imports and GDP, exports and non-export sector the relationship between the output of the regression analysis is carried out. The results showed that in Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality'GDP has Cointegration relationship with the total import and export , but the further Granger causality test showed that the their GDP is not caused by changes in import and export. The output of regression analysis which the relationship between total imports and GDP, exports and non-export sector showed that the coefficient of Chongqing's imports and exports are less than the coefficient of Sichuan Province; their import coefficient is greater than the export coefficient. Empirical findings of the study confirmed, the existing trade structure of the Sichuan and Chongqing play a obvious role in promoting economic growth. At the same time, we can also see the two provinces in the current trade structure has some unreasonable aspects through an intuitive method of the chart data analysis and measurement analysis. For example, total imports and exports smaller in relation to developed coastal areas, export structure are based mainly on resource-intensive and labor-oriented, export markets are too focused on, services trade has low share in their respective total trade volume. So, the final chapter in the paper put forward the countermeasures and suggestions to optimize the structure of Sichuan, Chongqing. These measures and recommendations include: the changing concept of development, adjustment of government-oriented; have a full attention to the promotion effect on import to economy; to expand the diversity of export products and improve the technical content of imported products; should pay attention to the role of processing trade; increased investment in services trade and promote the development of services trade; the two places should be cooperation and common development on the development of foreign trade; the development of an integrated logistics system.
