The Analysis Of The Impact Of RMB's Appreciation On Electromechanical Export Industry In Shaoguan

The rapid appreciation of RMB against U.S. dollar takes place since the implementation of floating exchange rate system based on market supply and demand with reference to a basket of currencies on July 21,2005. By April 10, 2008, the exchange rate of RMB against U.S. dollar breakthrough " 7 " mark with a cumulative appreciation of 16%. The appreciation of RMB has a great influence on electromechanical export industry in Shaoguan. Electromechanical export enterprises in Shaoguan are experiencing a sharp drop in export earnings and export gross profit. The author believes that it is of great significance to deeply analyze the specific impact and influence on electromechanical export of Shaoguan and explore ways to adopt strategies to eliminate or reduce the negative effect.This thesis contains three analyses: firstly, an analysis of the trade effect and influential mechanism of RMB appreciation; secondly, an analysis of the influence and impact on electromechanical export industry in Shaoguan under the trend of RMB appreciation, taking the electromechanical export industry for example; thirdly, an analysis of the successful strategies of Japan to cope with the appreciation of its own currency. Finally, some countermeasures for export industries about how to cope with the appreciation of RMB are proposed at the level of both government and enterprise. This research can provide some theoretical support for electromechanical export industry in Shaoguan even for other export industries about how to deal with the impact caused by expectation for the appreciation of RMB.As far as analysis method is concerned, this thesis adheres to the principle of combining qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, theoretical research and empirical analysis. Based on theoretical analysis and quantitative analysis, the influential mechanism of the appreciation of RMB is analyzed. Focused on analysis of specific case, two of the most representative electromechanical enterprises in Shaoguan are selected for studying the issue of RMB appreciation and measures to be taken, using comprehensive methods of quantitative analysis, data comparison and logical analysis.
