Analysis On Sino-US Strategic Economic Dialogue And Its Impact On Sino-US Relations

Sino-US strategic economic dialogue (Sino-US SED) has been held five successfully with great achievements, and it has been playing a positive role in the stability of Sino-US relations and safeguarding world economic order. Hu Jintao pointed out that Sino-US SED has not only provided a new opportunity for the cooperation between the two sides but also enhanced mutual understanding; Sino-US SED has not only helped to continue to push forward Sino-US economic and trade cooperation, but also has a positive impact on the stable development of the region and the world economy. Based on a comprehensive analysis of relevant literature and on the fifth Sino-US SED, the thesis expounds that Sino-US SED is an important platform for promoting Sino-US strategic mutual trust, strengthening mutually beneficial economic cooperation; Sino-US SED is also an important cornerstone for building strong and lasting Sino-US relations; Sino-US SED is of great significance to study Sino-US SED and Sino-US relations, to explore cooperation to safeguard the interests of both countries and to develop the economy of China and the United States.The thesis elaborates from four aspects: 1) Reasons and background of Sino-US SED; 2) Courses and characteristics of Sino-US SED; 3) Roles and significance of Sino-US SED; 4) Sino-US SED and the prospects of Sino-US relations,Although Sino-US SED has resolved properly the frictions and problems between China and the United States, and has been playing a positive role in the sound development of Sino-US relations, we should also see the system, culture and ideological differences between two sides; the United States'uncertainty about China's development and other factors will enable Sino-US relations to be good or not, the future of Sino-US relations need long-term communication and mutual understanding.
