The Evaluation Of The International Competitiveness Of Jilin Province's Main Farm Products And The Study Of Promote Strategy

Jilin, as an agricultural province and an important farm production base in our country, its enhancement of the international competitiveness of the main farm products is of great significance in the aspects of expanding agricultural exports, increasing farmers'income and promoting economic growth.This paper is based on the comprehensively applying of economics, international trade, management and international competitiveness theory, applies the comparative advantage theory of development economics and adopt the method of international trade competitiveness index to compute the competitiveness index of major farm products of Jilin Province which also according to the analysis of the natural endowment of its resources. And furthermore, this paper analyses their competitiveness in the international market, seeks for the advantages and disadvantages in the international competition and the reasons, makes clear the status of Jilin's farm products in international competitiveness and give some suggestions to increase the international competitiveness of Jilin Province's farm products.This paper consists of four chapters except introduction. In its introduction, the author illustrates the background, significance, content and methods of this thesis, and the study of current conditions about the international competitiveness of farm products both at home and abroad. The first chapter explains the concept of competitiveness and the connotation of competitiveness of farm products in the international market, and mentions some index to evaluate international competitiveness of farm products. The second chapter mainly estimates the competitiveness index of the major agricultural products of Jilin Province by using of Revealed Comparative Advantage and Competitiveness Index, and makes a quantitative analysis of the main farm products. This paper puts emphasis on the last two chapters, which indicate the influences from the overall production capacity of agriculture, intermediaries in rural areas, labor quality, foreign Technical Trade Barriers and excessive domestic competition, and propose some measures which in connection with this five aspects to increase the international competitiveness of farm products of Jilin Province.
