Study On The Strategic Development Of Lanzhou Economical Development Zone

The past 30 years of reform and opening up witnessed the great promoting and facilitating role which the economic development Zones played in the development of China's economy and various social undertakings. However, many factors such as structure, mechanisms and a correct understanding on the development zone and the establishment of a system of evaluation have also revealed many Problems. As a result, it has become one of the issues to be resolved that how to effectively carry out the strategic management of economic zones so as to guide these zones develop soundly.Lanzhou Economic Development Zone is provincial—level economic development zone. At present, the development zone has become the leading player on the economic development of Anning County, and also an important component in construction of the modernization of Lanzhou. Although Lanzhou economic development zone made some achievement since its establishment, it still has various problems. Especially as the lacking of development strategy, industry orientation and development mold which has unique competitiveness has not formed here yet. Thus, it's leaking competitiveness.This paper introduces briefly the strategic theories and the development of economic development zones in China, analyzes completely the strategic environment in Lanzhou Economic Development Zone on the basis of the results of studies on the use of SWOT analysis. In combination of practical problem of Lanzhou economic development zone, this paper put forward suggestions on the strategic planning of development target, industry selecting and orientation, support system, safeguard measures and so on which have reference value on the development of Lanzhou economic development zone and decision making of the government.
