Energy-saving and emission-reduction is a national strategy.The power industry is in a more prominent position.Energy-saving and emission reduction is not only the requirements of government regulation,but also the intrinsic needs of enterprise development.In this thesis the technical and economic methods and environmental impact assessment methods are applied to explore the policy of "replacing the small generation units with large ones"—to increase power plant's comprehensive benefits through increasing power production and reducing pollution.First of all,in recent years the development of thermal-based electricity production brought about a series of characteristics of energy consumption and pollutant emissions,based on this analysis, this thesis proposes the Practical significance of the research,then to evaluate the economic and social benefits of "replacing the small generation units with large ones". Using the replacing project of DaTang Taiyuan co-generation power plant as a case study,quantitative analysis on the change of economic and emission indicators of the power plant expansion project has been made.Through the comparative analysis of pre-and post-project implementation,this thesis comes to final conclusions as:the economic and social benefits of energy-saving and emission reduction are significant.The power generation company enterprise obtains a new competitiveness through this policy is favorable to the sustainable development of power industry.
