A Study On The System Of Academia Sinica During Nanjing National Government

Academia Sinica ,is the earliest national institution of scientific research and guidance in modern Chinese history. It is a transitional symbol from traditional to modern academic, holds great significance in the overall advancement and development of academic cause in contemporary China, and has an indispensable role in the history of academic development in China. Academia Sinica'systematism is the basis and protection of academic working. In this article, the author will study the system construction of Academia Sinica, aiming at combing the organizational forms and rules and regulations, analyzing the operation and showing the course of academic systematism, in order to get a good knowledge of Academic System of Academia Sinica during Nanjing National Government. The paper is to study it in the following four aspects:The first part is about the origination of Academia Sinica.In this part the author introduces the backgrounds and reasons and preparations so as to know historic source of Academia Sinica.The second part explores the structures given of Academia Sinica. In this part a detailed analysis of administrative, appraisal, research organs is given. Administrative bodies include Nanjing General Office, Shanghai Department and International Exchange Office of Publication and so on. Research organs state all of research institutions, including general situation and historic evolution. And appraisal introduce function and connection both the Academician Council and the Council of Academia Sinica.The third part is the detailed analysis of important and working system. This part mainly discusses not only the systems about appraisal, reward, engagement, academician but classification and principles of research. It is distinctly showed that the appraisal and academician systems play a key role in building academic systems of Academia Sinica.The fourth part expounds the position and influence of Academia Sinica. In this part Academia Sinica is compared to the traditional Imperial Academy and Chinese Academy of Sciences , analyzing their difference and relation, showing clearly the importance of academic modernism translation and effect on Chinese Academy of Sciences.
