On The Impact Of EU's Environmental Regulation On The International Competitiveness Of The Manufacturing Industry Of China

In the international trade nowadays, the industrial international competitiveness is one of major issues which need to pay attention. But at present, similarly has the phenomenon which is noteworthy: The environmental regulation has increasing influences, possibly can become one of the impacts which affect industrial international competitiveness, and thus has the influence on the entire international trade. Therefore the study that environment regulation whether has the influence on the industrial international competitiveness has extremely significance to our country's economy in both macroscopic and microscopic aspect.The present researches are mainly about the relationship between one country's environmental regulation and the country's industrial international competitiveness, are not many on the relationship between the trading country's environmental regulation and our country's industrial international competitiveness. Therefore based on the domestic and foreign researches, this article studies whether the environmental regulation in which the trading country proposed has the influence on our country's industrial international competitiveness. The purpose is solving following several problems: (1) whether European Union's environmental regulation has the influence on international competitiveness of our country's manufacturing industry; (2) whether environmental regulations has the different influences on our country's industries which are divided according to different pollution denseness.This article uses the method mixed with qualitative and quantificational analysis. With basic situations about the European Union's environmental regulations and the Chinese manufacturing industry are clear, the evaluation index systems of environmental regulations and the industrial international competitiveness are established and the computation is carried on. Then the metric analysis which in order to recognize the relationship of both aspects above clearly is following. Obtains the result that European Union's environmental regulations have tremendous influences on industrial international competitiveness at the certain manufacturing industries, but affects not so big at the others. Also the influences of the European Union's environmental regulations on the industrial international competitiveness of Chinese manufacturing industry are independent of pollution denseness. Finally, the countermeasures have been proposed.
