At present,the world market is in a very competitive status.As the changes of market's environment and the increasing of customer's expectation,the traditional production type and supply chain management can't meet such demand.The new SCM theory appeared.The new SCM has already changed or is changing every company's status in the global economy structure.The practice testifies that if successfully make good use of the SCM management,the company will be in a good and competitive status.And in the SCM,the procurement,inventory control,VMI,JIT and third party logistics are very important.If these aspects can be improved,the manufacturer can get good benefit from them. And Centralized Procurement & Logistics has centralized the procurement,VMI,JIT and inventory control.SonyEricsson is in a very difficult status in the world market.How to improve the supply capability and reliability and reduce the cost will directly effect the SonyEricsson's profit.After long period's deep research,SonyEricsson finally adopted the strategy of Centralized Procurement and Logistics.Through years' improvement, this strategy had helped SonyEricsson improve their supply capability and got more market share.But in fact,everything has two sides.Even though the Centralized Procurement & Logistics has given good benefit to SonyEricsson,but it also has disadvantages.Then how to avoid such disadvantages and improve this strategy will be a challenge to us.In this thesis,combining the theory and practice together,there is a deep research on SonyEricsson's Centralized Procurement & Logistics.Through the good analysis of the CPL,we can realize the advantages and disadvantages about the VMI,Central Procurement,Third Party Logistics and so on.And at the same time,we provide the useful suggestion on improvement,which will provide the useful advice to other companies.
