Research On Mineral Availability Of Some Important Minerals In Hubei Province

In different evolution periods of human being,mineral resource has always been the materials foundation of social development.The foundational position will not be weakened but more prominent in the future.In 21^st century,China accelerates its industrialization progress, which makes the mineral resource play a more fatal role in economic development and social life. As the non-renewable resource,the shortage in the supply of mineral restricts the implementation of the third strategic target.Hubei province is in possession of abundant mineral resources but still facing the shortage.Therefore,how to take the advantages of resource,overcome the weakness,and solve the supply-demand problem,is an urgent mission and precondition for Hubei province to comprehensively build well-off society and to achieve "central rise" strategy.Research on mineral availability is the great task that evaluating the supply capacity of mineral resource for social and economy development,and solving the confliction of supply-need.This task is being paid grate attention by each countries and regions.The representative works are the mineral availability demonstration presided by governments or supported by enterprises.It comprehensively evaluates the supply status aiming at the demands in scope of the whole world.This task is of underway in China and also Hubei province.The domestic and abroad scholars have gained a lot of achievements about this research.However the concept of mineral availability is still in argument.These achievements are mainly focus on economic evaluation of long-term availability for mineral resource.The mainstream of this research is to forecast the given minerals whether available and how to satisfy the availability in the future.In generally,the types of mineral resources in Hubei province are complete,and its gross is rich.The resource endowment of Hubei province is in the middle of China.But the confliction of supply-demand is quite remarkable because of its resource possession,prospecting degree, exploitation level and some other factors.This imbalance between supply and demand is in notable difference.Consequently,it is a highly meaningful topic which is about how to evaluate the mineral availability in Hubei province and to propose the pertinent countermeasures and suggestions.Therefore,this thesis firstly summarizes the current researches on mineral availability,and deeply promotes a theoretic analysis of mineral availability.Then it amply analyzes the Hubei province's mineral resource situation,and the coal,iron ore and phosphorite are selected as the target for their particularities.In the evaluation of the given minerals,this thesis forecasts the output during the period of 2009-2015 by constructing Gray Model.Finally it proposes the countermeasures to the given minerals and the strategic principles of mineral availability for Hubei province.This thesis is made up of five chapters as follow:The first chapter briefly introduces the background and significance of this thesis,and reviews national and international achievements on mineral availability,and finally,it presents briefly about the research purpose,line,contents and new ideas.The second chapter indentifies the concept on the base of current literatures.Then it expounds the theoretic foundations of mineral availability,differentiates and analyzes several relevant concepts with mineral availability.In the end of this chapter,the impact factors are analyzed and concluded.The third chapter presents the overall situation of mineral resource in Hubei province, including the distribution,characteristics,prospecting and exploiting situation,contribution to Hubei Province,and also the supply-demand status of mineral resource.Afterward,the coal,iron ore and phosphorite are selected as the target minerals.The forth chapter introduces the gray system theory and constructs the gray prediction model.Then it estimates the mineral availability of coal,iron ore and phosphorite respectively.The fifth chapter proposes corresponding countermeasures to these minerals in order to improve the mineral availability of them on the basis of the estimation.Finally the strategic principles of mineral availability for Hubei province are proposed.The mainly conclusions and the problems requiring for further studies are discussed briefly at the last chapter of this thesis.The new ideas are as follows:(1) Indentifying the concept of mineral availability and proposing the diversified impact factors to mineral availability,which is the use for reference for programming mineral resource.(2) Using the gray prediction model computing the future output of the coal,iron ore and phosphorite in Hubei province,and analyzing the mineral availability of these minerals with quantitative and qualitative analysis,dynamic and static analysis in the light of Hubei province's mineral resource programming.(3) Proposing the specific countermeasures of mineral availability to the coal,iron ore and phosphorite,as well as the strategic principles for Hubei province on the base of forecast and analysis.They are the meaningful reference of decision for relevant departments.
