Study On The Influential Factors Of Chinese Major Wood Product Imports

Forestry is very important because it provides material basis for the socio-economic development as well as environmental and ecological benefits.During the past several years, China's wood product imports growed rapidly to meet the economic and ecological needs for forest resources.This trend eased the domestic pressure on domestic forest resource,it also brought a lot of adverse effects.And now,the wood product import market is undergoing a lot of problems.With this background,this paper discussed and analyzed the factors influencing China's wood product imports market qualitativly and quantitativly using the multivariate statistical method of canonical correlation analysis,with the knowledge of economics,forestry economics and international trade.First of all,the paper descriped China's import and export trend of major forest products in detail.Then a comprehensive theoretical analysis on factors influencing China's wood product import market was conducted,which including domestic timber supply and demand,international trade,forest policy,socio-economic.Based on the theoretical analysis,the paper established a statistical model using the method of canonical correlation analysis to identify the import factors. Finally,some countermeasures and suggestions were gived.
