Research On The Export Competitiveness Of Lishui's Enterprises

With the accelerated globalization of the world economy and intensified international competition, any countries and regions have to participate in international competition inevitably. And the competition among countries is mainly based on economic competition. a prominent manifestation of the economic competition is whether a enterprise has competitiveness in the international market or not. Based on this piont, this paper focuses on the export competitiveness of enterprises in the international market.Lishui city, located in the southwest of Zhejiang province, is one of the less developed areas in Zhejiang province. In recent years, Lishui has made great achievements in the export trade and the volume of export increases every year, from 150,580,000 dollars in 2001 to 1,031,160,000 dollars in 2008. Especially in 2008, affected by the financial crisis, Lishui's export still maintained a growth rate of 37.7%. However, compare to other areas of Zhejiang province, there's still a large gap between Lishui and those areas. Then how about the export competitiveness of Lishui'enterprises? This paper studies on the issue of the evaluation of export competitiveness of Lishui city's enterprises。As for the research methods, the Literature research, behavior research, assessment research are used in this paper. Based on the theory, this paper combines empirical research with normative research.On the theory, based on the competitiveness of enterprises of Hu Dali, this paper detailedly analyzes the four main factors: enterprise environment, enterprise resource, enterprise capacity and enterprise knowledge, which form the export competitiveness of enterprises. This paper thinks that the export competitiveness of enterprises is formed by interacting and transforming mutually among the enterprise resource, the enterprise capacity and the enterprise knowledge. Also, this paper introduces AHP developed by T·L·Saaty, a American professor, a method of valuing the export competitiveness of enterprises and establishes an indicator system of the export competitiveness.On the empirical research, based on the export data, this paper analyzes the status quo of Lishui's export and the factors restricting the Lishui's export. Analyzing the export competitiveness of Lishui's enterprises from different perspectives, this paper designs an evaluation system of export competitiveness by using AHP and Compares Lishui city with the other 6 cities of Zhejiang province. This paper thinks that the export competitiveness of Lishui's enterprises is weaker than the other areas of Zhejiang province. It is similar to the Quzhou city which is located in the southwest of Zhejiang Province just like Lishui city. But in view of the long-term development, this paper thinks the enterprises in the Lishui city have a large potential of development. After analyzing the detailed competitiveness indexes, this paper discovers the advantages and the disadvantages of the Lishui's export competitiveness. Finally, based on the above analysis, this paper gives some proposed countermeasures. It is pointed out that, only with joint efforts of government, trade union and enterprise itself can we improve the export competitiveness of the Lishui's enterprises.
