| In 1980s, with the realization of the household contract responsibility system and the disintegration of People's Commune system, rapid differentiation has happened in the rural society. According to interests and social statuses, peasant classes have participated in the village political life and contested rights using their social resources. Thus momentous changes have happened in the construction of village rights. With the enhancement of consciousness of political participation, as economic elites, private enterprise owners have began to enter the village level politics actively, and held the resources of "organization & right" directly through the election of the villager committee. What are the motivations that private enterprise owners campaign actively? Which behavior strategies do they adopt in the election? Is it the real desire of villagers to vote for the candidates? What are the influences on the voting behavior under the election strategies? Based on the investigation of two villages in Yueqing, this paper researches on the campaign behavior of private enterprise owners in the election of villager committee, tries to explore the reality of the replacement of village political rights, analyses the behavior mechanism of economic elites in the village politics field and the variations of villagers' intentions under the influences of the strategies, and discusses the key factors which affect the election of rural grassroots organization on microcosmic lay. On the basis of experience research, this paper tries to resolve a theoretical problem: How village elites influence the village traditional social logic when they pursue political rights by right of economic strength? This paper is composed of six chapters. The first chapter is the introduction. With the review and the interpreted conceptions, the research problems are explained in detail. In chapter 2, the analyzing frame, the research approach and the survey of samples is introduced. Chapter 3 analyses the motivations based on the capital types. Chapter 4 explains campaign strategies to show transformation routes of sorts of capitals. The strategies' influences on villagers' voting are interpreted in chapter 5. And the last chapter is the basic conclusion, shown the reply to the theoretical problem advanced before. |
