Research On The Function Location Of Tianjin Binhai New Area

Since early 1980s, China has entered the stage of reform and opening-up.Led by the world wide theme,development, economic construction has been considered as the concentration of development. As far as the development process of china in recent 30 years, it moved gradually from north to south along coastline in coastal area as well as from east to west in inland area. Therefore, the coastal uplift belt and economic gap between North and South have been taken place resulting from the development process.In order to dinimish the economic gap between North and South, Chinese economic construction has been improved to a new stage. In 2006, the exploration of Binhai new area in Tianjin, was involved into the national Eleventh Five-Year Planning authorized by State Council, and was established as another comprehensive pilot reform district after Pudong New Area in Shanghai. It means Binhai Rim Economic Belt will become the third summit of Chinese developing area after the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta. In addition, it will be an engine, which can push the economic growth in the North and promote regional coordination.This paper aims to analysis the functions of Binhai new area. It begins with the transformation of national strategy based on the Regional economic theory and City economic theory. Through analyzing the Country's needs in the system of city groups at the macro level, and the coordinated development of the internal in Bohai Rim region at the micro level, and local driven at the smaller level, the paper worked out the Functions. As the Functions' starting point to meet the requirements of the development at all levels, the paper summed up four functions of Tianjin Binhai New Area ,that is gateway function, harbor function, industry function and metro function. At the same time in the functional building, Binhai New Area will achieve the goal that is integrating Bohai Rim region, coordinating Beijing- Tianjin- Hebei region, building metro in Tianjin and so on.Moreover, this paper aims to analysis the functions of Binhai new area. It begins with the transformation of national strategy based on the Regional economic theory and City economic theory.
