Logistics distribution center (LDC), which is standing at the key position of the modern commodity circulation, plays a really important role in modernizing logistics activities. Considering the special demand of modern logistics, such as various species while small volume, LDC consolidates the management of storage, picking, re-manufacturing, delivery, information processing etc, so as to lighten the working intensity, reduce the circulation cost and speed up commodity circulation.Based on the effective information collection work, LDC manages commodity circulation actively. Traditionally, LDC gathers information by barcode. Compared with the barcode, radio frequency identification (RFID) technology has the advantage of fast non-contact reading and writing, multi-target identification and so on. So nowadays, more and more corporations focus on RFID technology and make it a new trend in logistics distribution center.Due to the promising future of RFID technology, the article makes a quantitative analysis on the application of RFID technology in logistics distribution center, combining with the application of simulation technology and Flexsim software. The study mainly includes:Firstly, according to the character of RFID technique and LDC itself, this study concludes the feasibility of adopting RFID technology in LDC including stock in, storage, stock out and forklift truck scheduling, and provides a detail usage.Secondly, based on Flexsim simulation software and LDC process, the study sets up a dynamic simulation model of LDC and finds the bottleneck. Then the study builds a RFID application model in LDC after the further research on the changes of process and time attributed to the RFID technology.Thirdly, according to the simulation results and the statistic analization, the study provides a quantitative analysis of RFID technology and gives a reference suggestion to the corporations who are interested in RFID technology.Fourthly, combined relative algorithms and the RFID application in LDC, the study establishes a simulation by Flexsim visualization software and provides a research method about improving the efficiency of forklift truck.
