Urban community tourism is being and should be the key strategic way for the metropolis to promote tourism competitiveness. Nowadays, China is building a harmonious society and taking community tourism as an approach to realize the harmonious tourism. However, the development of community tourism should not only focus on the remote or undeveloped areas, but also the urban community. Combing the construction of urban community and tourism development together is undoubtedly an important strategic way for building harmonious city, protecting civil cultural heritage and environment, and developing urban tourism.The paper believes that it is a new approach of developing urban tourism by constructing urban tourism destinations with the perspective of the internationalization to achieve healthy interaction between tourism internationalization and community development. Internationalization of community tourism is not only a good way of historic community conservation, but also an effective strategy of urban tourism internationalization. Thus, the paper poses an internationalization development mode of urban community tourism.Urban community tourism internationalization is defined as a way which takes urban historic community as a vehicle to build a destination concentrating presentation of historic culture and leisure elements. Such tourism way attracts persons by its multiple tourism resources which satisfies travelers' needs for sightseeing, visit, leisure, cultural communication and life experience in the urban community.The paper believes that the key to achieve the internationalization of community tourism lies in the localization of the cultural connotation of community tourism indigenization, the internationalization of the quality of tourism services, the poly-system of tourist sources, the international fashion close-up of tourist product supplies and experiences, and the internationalization of the tourism trademark. It makes best use of the humanism of historic buildings and the open of metropolis. Such tourism community not only meets the needs of tourists' seeking for fresh, strange and leisure experience, but also promotes the urban tourism products and urban image by its becoming landscape symbol.The paper presents three main questions:Firstly, the paper analyzes the reasons of developing urban community tourism. It is solved based on the research background, research purpose and importance, as well as the literature review about urban tourism and community tourism and its basic concept and theory.Secondly, the paper analyzes the reasons of developing urban community tourism internationalization. It is discussed in the perspective of three-dimension research frame which involves the needs of tourists, tourism industry behavior and urban tourism space. After such comprehensive analysis, the paper brings forward internationalized mode is a sensible way of developing urban community tourism.Thirdly, the paper brings forward how to run an internationalization mode of urban community tourism. It proves approach mechanism and operation mechanism can run the internationalized mode. Finally, the paper does an empirical research on the Internationalization development mode in the example of Shanghai "Xin Tiandi".
