Study On Sustainable Development And Models Of Eco-Agriculture In Xianfeng County

Xianfeng county, in the southwest of Hubei province, is the region of the study. Under the guidance of theories of system engineering, ecology and sustainable development, base on domestic and international practical experience of eco-agricultural construction and abundant investigations to Xianfeng county, this paper designs the indicator system of Xianfeng sustainable development, looks insight into comprehensive evaluation of Xianfeng county eco-agriculture sustainable development from 2002 to 2006. Then, forecasts the sustainable development situation from 2007 to 2010. Finally, the measures of eco-agriculture are pointed out. The main study and the conclusions are as follows.1. If eco-agriculture is developed, it can optimize simultaneously the economic system in farming, rural society and natural ecosystem as well. Meanwhile it is an effective approach to the realization of agricultural sustainable development in Xianfeng county for it improves the sustainable use of ecological protection and farming resources. The exploitation of the West brings new opportunities to the county. Advantageous climate and rich resources of plants, tourism forms the superiority in developing eco-agriculture in this area. For years, however, the traditional extensive management on farming has led to a number of problem, such as sharp conflict between over-crowed people and insufficient land, too many hillside fields, serious water loss and soil erosion, severe pollution, fragile ecological environment. These hindered the development of eco-agriculture.2. Based on the consultation from relevant experts and some new achievements in the county and foreign researches, this article has construct a target system of accessing sustainable eco-agriculture development in which contains sub-systems and seventeen concrete targets. It analyzes the sustainable level of eco-agriculture in the Xianfeng county in term of The Analytic Hierarchy Process. And then this article proposes the adverse factors that hinder the development of eco-agriculture.3.In virtue of MATLAB software, the paper forecast the sustainable development degree from 2007-2010 by GM(1,1) model conveniently and accurately.4. Base on the homology and otherness of ecological-geography characteristic and the process of development, this article divides Xianfeng county into four areas of eco-agriculture construction, and then it chooses and designs a few eco-agricultural models that should be popularized especially.5. Finally, this article also proposes correspondingly nine solutions to the problems which arise in the development of eco-agriculture in Xianfeng county. It is suggested that people should construct an overall view on eco-agriculture, speed up the adjustment of agriculture industry structure, and set examples to others or popularize the successful experience and moulds.
