SIM card (Subscriber Identity Module) is GSM digital mobile phone user's identity card, which is used for memorizing customer identification code and confidential key. It also supports the authentication of GSM system. In recently mobile communications, SIM cards works not only as identifing personal data, but more inportantly as the carrier of mobile telecommunication business. SIM card becomes the main bridge between telecom operators and the customer. After more than ten years of development, SIM card has already developed to be the most popular and direct value-added service carrier among telecom operators.The competation of mobile telecommunications has switched from voice business to value-added business. As the unique and most powerful viehle to connect the terminal users, SIM cards are expected by the operators to be equipped with as much functions as possible. If SIM cards are not only the carrier but the circulator of value-added business, obviously, as far as the operators concerned, the attached value of sim cards have been increased. Moreover, SIM cards would be much more attactive to operators and provices them the good chance to get rid of the lower-level competitor. And as for the terminal users, they would expect more opportunity to choose the saving and value-added service, and break the tie to certain mobile phone type.SIM card plays a negligible role in the development of China Mobile. This essay exoatiates on the benefits brought to China Mobile subscriber's development, and meanwhile, the business strategy of China Mobile will also be explained in this essay.In a word, more and more mobile communication operators realized that the importance of added-value of SIM card product, and in the future, SIM card products will follow the 3G direction of more opening, safety, and multifunctionality.
