| This dissertation consists of introduction, classification of felt necessity, making felt custom, conclusion and bibliography.In the introduction, meaning of this topic selection, the research situation and the research methods used in the thesis are proposed.In the first chapter, it is mainly explained that the felt is originated from Mongolian's nomadic life, and its using area is enlarged gradually with social development, that is to say , felt is not only used in living, dressing and daily necessity, but also reflects the Mongolian's aesthetic need. In the process of making felt, traditional way of making felt is showed and some customs concerned with making felt process, such as, respecting the old, educating the children in nomadic labor are introduced.In the second chapter, the custom of traditional making felt is studied from three aspects which are adoring words of praise advocating, cooperation and worship of cleanliness.In adoring words of praise custom, it is expounded that words of felt praise comes from Mongolian's special feelings of advocating nature and cherishing livestock. Therefore, Mongolian people also cherish the felt made by fleece. This special feeling is showed in the words of felt praise definitely. Then, felt is not only the simple meaning of daily necessity, but also the sign of Mongolian's reverence and symbols of affluence. In advocating cooperation custom, it is discussed that Mongolian people how to cooperate with each other in material, strength and spirit in the process of making felt. Then, it is proposed that advocating cooperation custom is originated from the Mongolian's worship of unity spirit since the ancient time.In worship of cleanliness custom, it is discussed that felt not only has a widespread application domain in Mongolian's life, but also displays the Mongol's reverence feelings, therefore, in the process of making felt, Mongolian people pay more attention to the cleanliness of felt. Based on this kind of custom , clean,white felt is considered as the reflection of holiness by Mongolian. Then, it is expounded that this view is attributed to Mongolian' worship of white color custom. |
