Research On Risk Management Of Middle Investment & Long Term Projects

Since the 1990s, the reach on project risk management is becoming more and more popular. Generally, the value of middle investment and long term project in gas companies is much higher and its duration is longer than other projects. During the progress of the project, we are facing many kinds of risk. The risk will impact on the performance of the project, and causing deterioration in project profit. In the worst case, it will bring the losing of large amount of money and cause serious crisis to the company. Therefore, it is vital significance to implement risk management in these projects.This article focuses on the development of the risk management technology for the middle investment and long term project. An entire process of risk management for such project is introduced including risk identification, risk analysis, risk response planning and risk monitoring and control. The Hangzhou HX project is illustrated to show how the procedure is implemented. Firstly in this research, we proposed such kind of project risk plans with considering of the characteristics of gas companies. Then we use the methods of risk identification (i.e. brains storm) to find the latent risk factors of project. Based on the history similar project risk data and the current realistic situation, we analyzed the latent risk. Afterwards, an action plan is proposed and implemented according to the risk analysis result.
