On Index Economy Of Zhejiang Province

The economic development of Zhejiang province is jointly driven by regional block economy and specialized market. The development of block economy promotes the growth of specialized market with large scale and the agglomeration effect of specialized market, in return drives the expansion of block economy. The interaction between them becomes the solid foundation of Zhejiang's economy. In recent years, however, since the decrease of people's passion for doing business, the development of block economy and specialized market have suffered greatly challenges from other regions. In order to position on the leading role, several large specialized markets as Yiwu small commodity market, Yuyao plastic market and Shaoxing textile market of Zhejiang province issue indexes about certain categories of commodities. Therefore, this paper provides some theoretical and methodological guidance for future development of Zhejiang's economy and other regions.As an interdisciplinary work, this paper is guided by methodologies of regional economics, game theory, etc.. Based on current studies about "Zhejiang mode", this paper deeply discusses the new challenges for economic development of Zhejiang province and provides some advises from index economy perspective. Firstly, an interregional comparative model of comprehensive competence is constructed and used as an analytic tool for confirming economic advantages of Zhejiang province and discusses the development level is benefit from the advantages of block economic and specialized market. Then, the new challenges for economic development of Zhejiang province is analyzed from four aspects. After that, a new concept, index economy, is proposed and used to discuss how it influences the economic development of Zhejiang province. Finally, based on comprehensive analysis, this paper claims that the development of index economy can efficiently solve the dilemma of economic and social development in Zhejiang province, is helpful the enforcement of provincial policy. After theoretical analysis above, this paper suggests that the issue of indexes about certain categories of commodities can strengthen the agglomeration effect of specialized market, create new development space for small and medium sized enterprises, maintain local creativity and finally solve the dilemma of Zhejiang's economic development. Therefore, this paper proposes that the transformation from big province of market to big province of index of Zhejiang province is required urgently. Through the development of index economy, the advantage of specialized market of Zhejiang province will be re-established or even strengthened. The agglomeration effect of specialized market will further drive local economy of Zhejiang province to a new level.
