The Operating Development And Facilities Layout Of Express Service Areas

Service area, which is used to safeguard the traffic safety, alleviate drivers' long-distance fatigue, guarantee the travel vehicles' repair, is an important constituent of expressway. As these years developing, service area has changed from fundamental service items to more considerate and more comprehensive content that breaks though its traditional position and leads it to diversification.This dissertation based on the study of freeway service areas plan in Shaanxi province, investigates typical service areas in Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Hubei, Shandong province about its plan, layout and operation. Meanwhile some service area materials on the easten provinces are collected in this dissertation. Rely on these groundwork, the paper studies on the layout and operation.This dissertation analyzes the present situation of service area in operating aspect, sums up the model, item, and outcome of operation, and gives some further patterns, e.g. tourism, logistic, advertisment, and land development. It briefly discusses the the feasibility of these patterns, stresses the importance between these patterns and local economy.To run the service area more effectively, this dissertation do some research about design and layout of facilities which is used for vehicles, humen, and also including auxilliary, garden plots, and andscape from its own feature and relationship. All these work has been done for improving the efficiency of the facilities and increase the benefit of service areas.
