Hog producing takes the first position in China's animal husbandry. Pork is the ruling meat consuming products for unban and rural people, in those years, pork consuming takes 65% in China's consumed meat, and people's living consumption cannot work without pork. Therefore the development and constancy of pork producing is concerned with China economy and social stability. For a long time, hog producing mainly relies on many individual farmers, and many hog raising farmers ensure that hog producing is in the position of stability. However, in 2006 as many farmers withdrew from the hog raising industry, the situation changed, and China's hog producing reduced for the first time in the past years. As a result, the shortage of pork brought about the soaring price of pork and other food, showing serious impact on the life of urban and rural people. In such background, based on theory of individual behavior model, Hypothesis of the Rational Economic Man, theory of behavioral economics and Maslow's hierarchy of needs, the research takes an analysis of the farmers' hog raising behavior. Then, integrating the relative theory of microeconomics and statics and methods, according to the first-hand materials from investigation, the author analyze the factors which work on farmers' hog raising behavior theoretically. Finally, the author uses the positive methodology and analyzes factors which work on farmers' hog raising behavior quantitatively to provide suggestions for the country to solve the hog raising problems. The author draws the conclusions as follows:First, the average numbers in each rural family reduce and less and less farmers raise hogs; farmers get more chances to employ in other professions so that most of them will not raise productive sows to get a subsidy. Second, the numbers of minor children in a family, non-farming income and seeking for the spiritual life impact farmers' hog raising behaviors largely, and display the relationship of negative relevance. However, the attitude toward risk, the difficulty to get fodder impact the farmers' hog raising and display the relationship of positive relevance. Thirdly, the epidemic diseases mostly affect farmers' hog raising behaviors, but display the relationship of positive relevance, contrary to the expectation, mainly because in China most hog-raising farmers encounter serious damage. The level of difficulty to sell hogs obviously affects farmers' hog raising behaviors, but shows the relationship of negative relevance.
