The "incentive approach" is a quotidian but also troublesome issue to school managers who hope to create a competitive environment by means of proper incentives such as prize (including other immaterial incentives) so as to activate the teachers' enthusiasm and work efficiency, thus the organization's objectives can be realized as a result. And from the perspective of the teachers, as the managed objects, they consider the incentives as their work reward which can also satisfy their psychological demanding to some extent. At present, with the increasing investment in education, the amount of various prizes increase accordingly, which account for a large proportion of the teachers' incomes. Therefore, it's a hot issue with relation to the distribution of these prizes in primary schools, and also the issue which bewilders the author at meanwhile. In the author's work experience of 20 years, the author has been unswerving of finding the answer to the question as to which is the best incentive approach for the development of Primary School Z, and it is also the significance where this case research lies. The action research and the investigation research are both adopted during the case research. The author is the Dean of Academic Affairs, as one of the staff involved in the distribution of teachers' prizes; therefore, while reflecting the evolution course of the incentive approaches of Primary School Z, the author aims at solving the actual work problems by reference to the actual scenes, cases and archives rather than delivering any windbaggary; at meanwhile, in order to avoid the subjectivity due to personal experience, the uptodate investigations have been carried out during the research in hopes of proving some analysis and conclusions through the questionnaires and interviews, at the same time, the reliability of the research can be improved. In addition, the literature research has been supported by the theory.ChapterⅠproposes the question, and the following perspectives are put forward in ChapterⅡ: the individual incentives and the group incentives cannot be divided as which is wrong or right; on the contrary, the adoption of them mostly depends on the application context and actual results. The incentive approach of Primary School Z has undergone several stages, which have been exactly influenced by the revolution of the wages policy, the prevalent management wave, the leadership of the school's leaders as well as the behavior psychology of the teachers etc. at that time. If suitable to the practical conditions, the incentive approach will bring positive effects, otherwise, it will bring negative effects accordingly. In ChapterⅢ, the author analyzes the reasons why Primary School Z adopts the group incentives on the basis of the current situation. However, in ChapterⅣ, the paper also proposes the strategy of involving the individual incentives into the frame of group incentives in hopes of not losing the effectiveness brought by the individual competition in a harmonious environment featuring common progress, in this case, the positive effects of group incentives can be optimize, which is conducive for the development of the school and the students.
