Nowadays about 99% of the Chinese companies are SMEs, and they provide over 70% new increment industry production value. SMEs play a very important role in the economic development. But constrained by funding, size and experience, the innovative status of SMEs in China is not optimistic. To occupy the market and developing, innovation is the only way out. And the disruptive innovation creates an opportunity for SMEs to to surpass the large companies. It's a great effection on the SMEs that how to perform the disruptive innovation of SMEs more effectively.This paper aims at analyzing the influencing factors of disrputive innovation in SMEs through the two aspects of the external enviroment and internal capability, and comparing the difference of the factors between low-end disruption and high-end disruption. Based on survey on 119 SMEs, the paper tests and analyzes the hytheses in the conceptual model. Main conclusions are drawn as follows:The influencing factors of disrputive innovation in SMEs are government's policy support, external knowledge sources, and coorperation with venture capital, entrepreneurs' innovation willingness, the dominant position of research and development in the enterprise and enterprises strategic support. External knowledge sources and the dominant position of R & D in the enterprise have strong impact on both kinds of disruptive innovation. Government's policy support and enterprises strategic support only have strong impact on the high-end disruptive innovation; coorperation with venture capital and entrepreneurs' innovation willingness only have strong impact on the low-end disruptive innovation.Combining the more detailed investigation on some companies, the paper also provides corresponding advices for companies on how to perform the disruptive innovation more effectively. Together with the case study of Sinfor and Randv, enhanced illustrations on the conclusions are put forward. Finally, we analyze the shortcoming and the prospect for research in the future.
