Empirical Research On The Effect Of Industry Agglomeration On Regional Urbanization

At present, China's urbanization obviously lags behind industrialization. Accelerating urbanization development has become the focus of national attention, and is also the key issue to be faced to build the well-off society. Industry agglomeration, as a form of regional industrial organization, has an important role on promoting the level of urbanization. Industry agglomeration and urbanization affect each other. Under the national background of building a harmonious society, this paper studying the effects between industry agglomeration and urbanization has a reference value of China's urbanization development both on theory and practice.This paper reviews the theories and research results of urbanization and industrial agglomeration both at home and abroad, and then analyzes the situation of urbanization and industry agglomeration in Jiangsu Province. On this basis, by establishing panel data regression model of urbanization and industry agglomeration, this paper makes regression analysis of all industries and typical industries both in Jiangsu Province and the three regions to reveal the effect of industrial agglomeration on the development of urbanization in Jiangsu Province. The results show that localization economy acts the most obvious role of promoting urbanization of Jiangsu Province. Localization economy has lager effects on promoting urbanization both of south and north of Jiangsu, and has a weak obstacle effect on urbanization in middle of Jiangsu. Urbanization economy in three regions all inhibits the development of urbanization at different degree. Viewing through the typical industries, the agglomeration of tobacco industry greatly promotes the urbanization of Jiangsu, but the other three industries are hindering the development of urbanization. Finally, based on the results of regression analysis, this paper puts on some countermeasures to promote the development of urbanization in Jiangsu through the angle of layout, structural adjustment, innovation, international management and institutional mechanisms.
