The Industries In The Rear Area From The Xinhua Daily

Xinhua Daily was the CCP's official newspaper, which was founded in Hankou on January 11, 1938. It was the product of the second cooperation between the Communist Party and the Kuomintang and the sole major daily newspaper published publicly by the Communist Party in Kuomintang Centre. Under the leadership of Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, the Yangtze River Bureau, the South Bureau and the Sichuan Provincial Committee, Xinhua Daily adhered to fight against the sabotage of the Kuomintang reactionaries unyieldingly, insisted on party principles and policies. Besides, rich and detailed reports about the rear industrial development situation at that time were very objective.After the broken-out of the Anti-Janpanese War, the government of Kuomintang which adopted many good measures to strengthen the war force and encouraged the rear-industry area to work hard for the war and the new nation construction afterwards was moved to Chongqing. At that time, Xinhua Daily was published in Chongqing correspondingly. It reported detailedly that some patriotic industrialists who fought for national spirits went through all kinds of difficulties and sufferings to settle circumlittoral industries into the rear areas. With the patriotism and the passion for the war, the rear-industry got into work energetically all through our country. In result, they achieved a lot and made great contributions for the war.However, because of some changes in the war during its the medium and post phase, the traffic went worse and worse and the materials lacked seriously in the rear areas. Besides, the skyrocketing of price, the lack of capital and the shortage of raw materials blocked the development of the rear industry. Furthermore, after the victory of the war, the rear industry was in hot water again because of the serious economic crisis. The government of Kuomintang once tried to help it to get out of the plight of industrial crisis, but instead of tackling this problem properly, they adopted contrary policies. They developed bureaucratic capital wantonly and limited the development of the rear industry. At last, the rear industry fell down gradually.Xinhua daily, under the leadership of the CCP's south bureau, it not only gave a faithful account of the above events, but made comments to attack and reveal the inflation of bureaucrat capital of the Kuomintang. It made serious criticizes to their action of blocking the rear industry, and put the spearhead straightly to the counteraction governing of bureaucrat capital and the bigots of the Kuomintang. Xinhua Daily strongly appealed that only peace and democracy could facilitate the development of economy and our country could get rid of the crisis and develop industry until we could realize the democracy of politics and economy.
