With the development of economic globalization, the internationalization of enterprises has become an irresistible trend. National enterprises try to speed up the process of internationalization to achieve maximum business efficiency and cost-effectiveness. In this case, the relationship between business performances and enterprise internationalization becomes a problem that scholars generally concerned with. For this problem, scholars both at home and abroad have done a great deal of researches, but there is no agreed conclusion.As to overseas research, foreign scholars mainly choose enterprises in developed countries as the objects, so there are few studies about developing countries. And due to the special nature of different countries, studies did not lead to uniform conclusions; as to domestic researches, scholars mainly choose theoretical analysis and case studies to discuss the relationship between enterprise internationalization and business performance, and most of the researches are qualitative, there are few quantitative analyses. Therefore, this article chooses Chinese manufacturing industry data for samples to explore the problem by empirical analysis, to discuss whether international operations increased or decreased business performance.To study this problem, the paper first analyzes the benefits and costs of internationalization theoretically, and then analyzes the relationship between internationalization and business performance empirically to further explore how internationalization influences business performance.This article aims to reveal the characteristics and problems in the process of internationalization of Chinese enterprises, and provide a theoretical basis for formulating relevant policies of China and thus lay the foundation for future studies.
