Study On Process Analysis And Evaluation Method Of Project Team Effectiveness

Organizations have gradually replaced the management on the organizational structure by project management since the 1990s. However, the project failure rate is high all the time. It has been found that construction of project team has a tremendous impact on the project success. Project managers are facing with a major problem that how to build a high effective project team to complete project objectives.From knowledge process of project team and development of project team perspective, this article analyzes the changes of project team effectiveness and gives some management suggestions. Furthermore, it constructs the evaluation system of project team effectiveness. This article mainly includes the following parts. First, it analyzes theoretical and practical current status of project knowledge management and effectiveness of project team. Then, it establishes the expert-network model of the project team in order to assess the distribution of internal human knowledge (Know-who). And it analyzes the changes in every project team development stages and trends, presenting some implications. Taking project's knowledge management and analysis of the project team effectiveness as guidelines, it proposes the multi-dimensional project management system, of which is construction of project team. Basing on process analysis of project team, it presents IPO model of project team effectiveness and systematically constructs evaluation system of the project team effectiveness. Finally, this article makes an empirical study on Sea-oil projects in a large-scale project management enterprise. And it investigates five similar knowledge-intensive projects, two of which are analyzed using effectiveness of project team method. Also, it analyzes one of the project team effectiveness. For the first three items, it discusses the application effective of expert network model, project team effectiveness analyzing method, project team effectiveness evaluation system. Moreover, it verifies the feasibility of the multi-dimensional project management model. The results show that the expert network model can reveal the distribution of human knowledge within the project team. And if it applies the process analysis of project team effectiveness and evaluation system into the construction of project team, effects can be significantly. The process analysis of project team effectiveness method and the evaluation system of project team effectiveness proposed in this article presents a new idea for the construction of project team and further project management.
