Research on land use and land cover change is the prerequisite and guarantee of sustainable development for one country or region. At present, the researches of LUCC mainly focus on vast scale temporal and spatial variation (global & nation) and there is relatively little research which focuses on small scale. But, the typical studies of local scale provide abundant regional information for the whole overall researches. So, there is important significance of the researches which focus on local scale. The present study analysised the LUCC and its driving forces of Changjiaoba town based on analyzing the research progresses at home and abroad by using the analysis method which is multiple subjects crossed and integrated and it takes the Changjiaoba town which is in the Qinling region as the research object and uses remote sensing image in 2008, land use characters and social economic indexes data of Changjiaoba town from 2002 to 2006, land use types map of the typical area in Changjiaoba town in 1996. At last, it predicts the future land use change trend of the typical region whose population is the densest and its land use type is the most complex in Changjiaoba town. The main results are as following:(1) In the process of preprocessing the remote sensing image, it firstly used the corrected topographic map and the DEM data whose coordinate system is converted ortho-rectified the image, after that it fused and enhances the image according to the specific formulas of fusion and false natural color conversion by using the spatial modeling module of ERDAS9.2 to enhance the resolution of the image. At last, it classified the image and handled the image after classification to guarantee the accuracy of the analysis of the LUCC.(2)The classification results show that: the forest area of Changjiaoba town is 11982.35hm~2, it accounts for 89% of the total land use area; the area of the crop land, construction land, unutilized land, waters and grassplot respectively are 774.99hm~2, 5.31hm~2, 242.46hm~2, 206.69hm~2 and 55.31hm~2.(3) The present study analyzes the driving forces of LUCC of Changjiaoba town from 2002 to 2006 by using the method of correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis to get the driving force model. It gets the following results: the factor which influences the land use of Changjiaoba town is mainly natural growth of population. The social economic driving force which influences the area of forest land, construction land, crop land and waters is natural growth of population. The social economic driving force which influences the area of grassplot and unutilized land is net income per capita.(4) The present study predicts the future land use change trend of the typical region of Changjiaoba town by using Markvo module. After prediction we can get the following results: the area of the construction land of the typical region in Changjiaoba town in 2010 is 2.0683hm~2 less than the area in 2008, the area of the construction land of the typical region in Changjiaoba town will be stable. The area of the construction land of the typical region will be stable in future. The area of the forest land of the typical region will be increased in future. The area of the crop land, grassplot and unutilized land of the typical region will be decreased in future.
