Research On Land Cover Change In The Typical Karst Township

Nowadays, the research of land use and land cover change(Lucc) is one of the core themes in global changing studies,and it is an important research topic in many subjects, such as resource sciences, geography, remote sensing information sciences, and so on. The arealivariation displays clearly on the aspect of natural conditions in ZhongDuo town, You Yang County, Chongqing City, where the variety of landform is obvious, and the geomorphic type giving first place to the karst develops integrated and various. With a series of measures(Chongqing becomes municipality directly under the central government, urban and rural economic develop as a whole)putting into effect, and multiple factors’driving including villages and towns’economic growth, agricultural surplus labors’transfer, agricultural industrialization and reforestation, land consolidation and development reclamation,ZhongDuo town becomes an ideal place to study the land cover changes in the remote karst town, for it’s obvious.By means of the 3s technology, on the basic data of the topographic map(1992), Land use status map (2002), SPOTS-5 remote sensing satellite images(2011), and the statistics for years, it can be collected the land cover data of karst middle mountains in subtropics. Based on this, employing the transfer matrix method, the single land use conversion rate, the dynamic degree of comprehensive land use, the index of the Lcc, it can be picked up the process and pattern of the Lcc of ZhongDuo county in two period(1992-2002,2002-2011), nearly 20 years. Then the article analyses the driving factors of the Lcc from the actual and present facts, which can provide some references to the researches of Lcc in other karst vulnerable areas, also can offer the basis when the southwest zone’s government makes the economic and society’s sustainable development strategies in the new period of comprehensive construction well-off society.The result shows:the dominated of land cover in ZhongDuo town is forestry. In the past 20 years, the Luce in ZhongDuo town is huge, while the variation and intensity of each ground varies in different period. It is sharper in 1992-2002 than that in 2002-2011. Mentioned specifically, the quantity of forestland and plow land has reduced continued; the rate of bush wood gradually has increased; the area of grass has increased sharply in the early time while later slowly reduced; the area of waters and rural residential plus urban industrial land has increased with steady steps; rare rock has been presenting extend trend in the past 20 years, from the small independent stone scattering among land and grass developing into the bedrock exposed with a large area, in the past 20 years, it can be pointed in the researched region that the degree of the Luce has advanced, the landscape fragmentation increased; and the main driving forces leading to the change of the land cover include the fragile environment conditions in Karst zone,the landform circulation, the policy and laws, the population effects and economic development, and so on.This study has completed materials and precised data. As a case of the research of Luce in karst zone, it can guide the researches of Luce and driving force in small scale, provide the basic to exploit land resources and develop social economic reasonably.
