The Research On The Competitiveness Of Cotton Industry In Xinjiang

China is one of the big countries yielding and consuming cotton in the world, the output of cotton in Xinjiang was at the first place in our country in these years. The cotton industry has the irreplaceable position in the whole national economy in Xinjiang. The cotton industry is a pillar and characteristic superiority industry in rural economy of Xinjiang Province. Through many years construction, the cotton industry in Xinjiang Province has been on a certain scale and level. After having joined the WTO, Xinjiang's cotton market has been merging into the global market. So, it is significant to research into the development ideas of the cotton industry and seek the ways and methods to promote competitive ability of the cotton industry.On the basis of reviewing the related research at home and abroad, the thesis briefly analysis the basic meaning of competitive ability and evaluate the status of industries'performance, and takes the data of cotton industry in Shandong Hebe and Henan province as samples, and calculate the competitive ability of cotton industry in Xinjiang, by calculating emerge index. The research proves that except the benefit competitive predominance exponential, Xinjiang has obvious predominance in other exponentials. By applying GEM analysis model, we can get that the competitive ability of cotton industry in Xinjiang is on top in our country ,but it still has a big distance compared with cotton industries that on the top of the world. And the reason that cause this distance is factor mutualityⅡ. In another way it means the factors that provider and correlation assistant industries, the structure, tactics and competing factors of the companies have been given a low grade by specialists.On the basis of research, the paper proposes the suggestions on the improvement of competitive ability of cotton industry in Xinjiang. At last, the thesis makes expectations on the following research.
