China's Joint-stock Commercial Banks Competitive Analysis

Chinese stock commercial banks is important constitution of Chinese banking market, they play an important role in the competition of Chinese banks. They are taking on the mission of both inducing the market competition mechanism and probing the commercialization of the banks. The entry of stock commercial banks has made great improvements for Chinese banking market. They've ranked at the head part of aspects such as development speed, economic efficiency and contributions to GDP. And they have got high praise. But the scale of Chinese stock commercial banks scale is too small to make threatening pressure to Chinese state-owned banks. With China's entry to WTO, the pace of the foreign banks' entry to our banking market has been fasted. Our banking market , especially stock commercial banks, are facing great competition pressures for subjective and objective causes, they have encountered the unexpected difficulties. How to find an efficient method to improve Chinese stock commercial banks' competitive ability under pressure of both state-owned banks and foreign ones, this is an important topic for improving competitiveness of Chinese banking market. Using the qualitative and quantitative analysis, this paper thoroughly and profoundly anatomizes the competitiveness of the Chinese stock commercial banks and put forward some constructive countermeasures for improving it.This paper comprises five chapters. The first chapter is the Introduction. This chapter describes the current overview of the Chinese banking market's competition, and outlines the current competition status of Chinese stock commercial banks, followed by a literature overview.The second chapter is the analysis of qualitative index of Chinese stock commercial banks' competitive ability. This paper has analyzed three parts of qualitative index: the first part is organizational structure; the second part is structure of property rights; the third part is human capital structure. This chapter primarily through contrast of qualitative index between Chinese stock commercial banks and state-owned banks, directly evaluates competitive ability of Chinese stock commercial banks.
