Investigation Report On Financing Of Cotton Industry Chain In Weixian County Of Hebei Province

Three Rural Issues relating to agriculture,rural areas and farmers have always been the focus of the government.Currently,vulnerable groups such as farmers are the main concern of inclusive financial in China.Hebei Province is a major agricultural province in China,and so is Weixian County in Hebei Province,especially for cotton production.As the original product supplier of cotton production,cotton farmers have an important influence on the cotton industry chain of Weixian County.As a new type of cotton business entity,cotton professional cooperatives help dispersive cotton farmers go to the cotton industry chain in an organized way and enhance market competitiveness.However,subjects of production and operation like cotton farmers,cotton professional cooperatives,cotton enterprises and others in Weixian county have been plagued by such problems as difficult and expensive financing,causing the decrease in cotton planting area and cotton output.If corresponding measures are not taken in time,this decline will expand.Serious damage will not only happen to the development of the entire cotton industry chain and even to the agricultural development in Weixian County.Owing to the fact that cotton production is irreplaceable in the agricultural industry and the economic development of Weixian County,this paper has made a certain understanding and analysis of the development status and existing problems of cotton industry chain there by means of questionnaire and on-the-spot investigation.Through the actual developing analysis of the cotton production link,acquisition link and processing link,it is found that the cotton industry chain in Weixian County has the problems of short chain,scattered subjects of production and operation as well as serious default phenomena.By the investigation of the main financial suppliers in Weixian County and the financing needs of the main producers and operators in the cotton industry chain,a mismatch was found between the supply and demand of funds in the cotton industry development.Then through theoretical analysis and empirical model,the factors that affect the possibility of financing needs of farmers who are the main producers of cotton industry chain in Weixian County are studied,and variable analysis is carried out.It is concluded that the gender,educational level of householders and the situation of joining the industry chain have a positive correlation with the financing needsof farmers.Finally,some related suggestions are proposed to how to promote the development ofthe cotton industry chain in Weixian County and solve the financing problems.
