Travel agency industry is one important component of Shanxi province travel industry. But the analysis of its current situation and the determination of its target have been ignored for a long period. Therefore, the research of this respect is relatively short. The situation of "small, scattered, weak and poor" exists generally in the Shanxi province travel industry. The whole travel agency industry market is orderless and the profit rate declines. So, in order to realize the continuous and healthy development of Shanxi province travel agency industry, it is necessary and urgent to analyze market structure, market activity and market performance and on this basis to locate its industry organization optimizing target exactly.The thesis analyzes the current situation of Shanxi travel agency industry and the situation of industry competition from the angle of Shanxi travel agency industry organization and market competition on the basis of industry organization theory and tourism science theory. The thesis mainly employs demonstration and quantitative analysis method. It bases on the emphasis of validity and serviceability of data and theory to research the major content and finally obtains the expected conclusion.There are six parts in the thesis. The first part is introduction and mainly elaborates the research background, target and significance. The second part analyzes the current situation of Shanxi province travel agency industry organization and the problems that exist in the industry organization. The third part makes an analysis for the competitive situation of Shanxi province travel agency industry market. It dissects the overall competitive environment of Shanxi province travel agency and current competitive situation from follow aspects:inside and outside competitive environment, industry scale, structure and competitive power analysis. The fourth part, based on the second and third part, integrates the theoretic evidence, the present state macroeconomic situation and the objective evidence of organization situation and market competitive situation of Shanxi travel agency industry, and finally regards the realization of effective competition and scale economy monopolized market structure as the target of optimizing Shanxi travel agency organization. The fifth part discusses the way and method to optimize industry organization on the basis of the definite target from enterprise's own behavior, the government behavior and the industry association behavior, in order to promote the healthy development of Shanxi travel agency industry, to increase the whole performance of travel agency, to supply a new idea for government to draft industry organization policy. The sixth part is the summary of the whole thesis and gives the research conclusion and future research direction according to the above five parts.
