The Research On Application Of Life Cycle Cost Management Theory In Substation Design Process

In the past, most power grid companies and design institute only focus on initial input control and ignore the cost of follow-up construction phase, operation and maintenance phase, until the removal stages. Project management have not done under the perspective of whole life cycle. It make the total cost of project life cycle increased, and affect the return on investment in power transmission and distribution project. This paper will introduce the whole life-cycle management theory to the engineering design process of substation, study how to use the life cycle designing theory in the design process. Planning as a whole from very beginning of construction, which ensure optimal life cycle costs. Combined with practical case, this paper describes how to apply the life cycle designing theory in the substation design process.
