Primary Study On The Method Of Design With Nature In Hot Springs Resort

As incomes rise, the demands for leisure vacation increase in China. Hot springs resorts, which use hot springs to provide a wide range of services (including Spa, sightseeing tour, accommodation, conference, fitness, entertainment, etc), are becoming more and more popular among all kinds of thematic resorts. However, along with the prosperity of the development of hot springs resorts in China, the contradictions between artificial constructions and natural environment are becoming more and more significant in a considerable amount of hot springs resorts. The lack of harmony between artificial constructions and natural environment, not only causes the unnecessary waste of resources and the irreversible damage on ecological environment, but also can not satisfy the consumers'strong desires of getting back to nature, and therefore this is not good for the sustainable development of hot springs resorts.With consideration of the serious contradictions between artificial constructions and natural environment in the development upsurge of hot springs resorts in China, this thesis focuses on analyzing the natural factors which affect the architectural design of hot springs resort and trying to work out a more systematic design method which has a wide range from site selection, sectorization, combination of buildings to the design of form, space, details and can make artificial constructions and natural environment harmonize with each other in hot springs resorts, in order to make better use of natural environment and resources and protect the natural environment better in hot springs resorts.
